1 Jan 2012 – 39 ft Double Thomas Inch Dumbbell Farmers Walk, Overhand Axle PR, Ironmind Rolling Thunder PR

by adam on January 1, 2012

Easily my greatest double Inch farmers walk thus far, by at least 16 ft, heaviest axle lift locked out, and heaviest off the floor. Heaviest Rolling thunder locked out, heaviest off the floor. Rocked today teaching Joel, Rob, and Joe the core grip events for Frostbite as well a class on squatting within the physiological limits of ones tissues.

My support grip training is paying off to a huge degree. At this point I believe I will be on track to go head to head with Andrew at US Nationals. I believe he has the strongest support grip on the planet for his size. The number of people who I have seen lift X2 BW with an axle who weigh over 215 is 1, only Andrew has done it as far as I know. My body weight was 214 at the gym today, so I am now within 3 weeks of attaining this mark.

At the end of this month I will once again compete at the Metroplex Mayhem Grip Competition in Ft. Worth TX. My goal lifts will be two hand pinch of 245, axle deadlift of 440, and a 175 gripper close. It will be fun.

Looking for a simple tool to increase your hand strength? Check out the excellent FatGripz handles, they are dope.

Wow, nice work, man. Could you go over the squatting stuff with me?

HUGE performances Adam! Hard to pick what is the most impressive of those feats. Almost a double bodyweight Axle – at your bodyweight it’s a massive accomplishment. Even if you weighed 150lbs it would be pretty remarkable to pull double bodyweight on the Axle. One of the guys from Al’s Gym has pulled 400lbs weighing what I’d guess is 185 or at most 200. He’s a strongman competitor and doesn’t do grip contests.

400 at 185 is certainly an elite lift, not surprising to me the guy trains at dinos.
