World’s Strongest Hands 2011 Series, Leg 3 and final scores

8 Oct 2011 was the final leg of the 2011 World’s Strongest Hands Series.

The final leg had 85 competitors from contest sites in Australia, Russia, Ireland, Finland, United Kingdom, and the USA.

Events for the final leg were grippers from a 20 mm set, two hand pinch lift, the Griptopz Hub lift, and the Griptopz Stub lift.

This years series was a great success for the sport of grip. We had more contest locations from last year, and more competitors. The newly formed 82.5kg class was a great thing for the sport and allowed a more level playing field for lighter weight men.

The Griptopz are very easy to compete with. Simple to judge, fairly low technical groove.

David Horne had me picked for a top 5 finish this year, and had I not bombed (as in missed all 4 attempts) in Leg 2 I would have finished either 4th or 5th place. My gripper strength was good, my two hand pinch lift was ranked #3 and #5 for legs 1 and 3. My griptopz numbers kept me at the top of the pack. I set a World Record leg 1, a #2 & #4 placement leg 2, and a #4 placement leg 3.

Make no mistake, next year will be a top placement. I do not know if I will be ready to take down Horne, but I will be a top 3 finisher.
