The final leg of this years Strongest Hands series will be Saturday, 8 Oct 2011.
The international grip contest continues with sites in the USA (MN, MI, OH, PA, TX, AZ), Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, and Russia.
The final leg events will be as follows
- Vulcan gripper with 20 mm block set, 4 attempts.
- Two Hand Pinch on the adjustable European apparatus, 4 attempts.
- Griptopz Hub lift, 4 attempts.
- Griptopz Stub lift, 4 attempts.
Classes will be men’s open, men’s 82.5 kg weight class, and women’s open.
The total number of competitors in the continuing series is 112. I would expect by the end of this leg we will see over 120.
There are currently 12 women, 28 men in the 82.5kg class, and 72 in open.
Registration is 15 dollars for the contest.
Show time for the Minneapolis contest will be 10 AM for weigh in and warm ups. Rules briefing will be at 1050, with first go at the Vulcan beginning at 11 AM.

World’s Strongest Hands is an outstanding entry level grip competition for novices, and an excellent proving ground for those who want to go head to head with the best in the world. Come on out and have fun!

Ya know living in Alaska sometimes really sucks. We have NOTHING like these events. Actually I’M the only true “grip” guy that I know of around here and thats sad. I have managed to get my brother in law into grip training and he loves it. I would so get crushed at these events but I would go and learn as much as I could from you guys. Anyway, feel fortunate you even have the oppurtunities.
I do not see where I should feel fortunate, considering I have purchased all the equipment to promote, set up a gym to promote, and call people to get them out here. It’s not like a magical package arrive one day with 60+ grippers, axles, block weights, and assorted goodies out of the thin air
One thing you can do is contact David Horne, and see if he will have you as a promoter for next years series. if he says yes he will send you the WSH kit. You pay it back with your registrations per leg. You can be the one to get it going in your area. Better to be the one to make things happen then to sit back and wait for someone else to get it moving. Email me if you want more details.
