I got my approval from the GB that the cert was good to go today.
The Mash Monster program was started a few years back. It is 7 grippers, which are mailed out to keep the lists under the same conditions. Everyone who has successfully closed a given Mash Monster gripper used the exact same gripper. The MM1 is a like a hard #3 COC. The MM2 in my opinion feels like a BB Elite. I am told the MM3 feels like a mid 180 lbs rated COC 3.5, from there they progress up to a BB Grand Elite (as tough or tougher than a COC #4). The current highest rated Mash Monster is Paul Knight of Ft Worth TX who is the only man to close the MM7.
Lists like this are a fun way for you to challenge yourself and keep your training focused. If you currently enjoy grippers and you can close a #3 COC you may enjoy trying to climb the MM ladder. If you are curious check out the gripboard website.

Adam, could you recommend a couple of grippers for me. Something not as hard as a #3 and one harder. I see you said the mm1 is harder.

For easier then a #3, a Tetting Super master and Grand Master, for harder a Atomgripz quad band and BB Elite
