I hate to cook, and I had to shop. This leaves me grabbing food on the go often. Like nearly everyday often.
These are my top 3 places for fast grubbing in Minneapolis, and I probably eat at them more than 4 times a month.
#1 Chipotle. King of the freaking mountain. I think Chipotle makes a lot of sense.
Freshly cooked meats, fairly fresh veggies, and hot sauce. Taco, burrito, or bowl. At my Chipotle of choice (HW 55 and Winneka in Golden Valley) they can have me in and out of the store in 60 seconds. No kidding, they are awesome.
Adding to the awesome, Chipotle supports local produce and farmers. Many stores are supplied in some fashion by local business in efforts to provide the best possible foods.
Unlike other mexican style fast foods, the meat goes from raw to cooked on a grill in front of you. Not from strange mix in a bag to stranger mix in a bowl from the back room.
Give them a shot, it’s a key part of both my and Mike T Nelson Metflex strategy for clients. Seriously.
#2 Punch Pizza. Best pizza in America. That is not an opinion, it is a fact.
Punch is so amazing. The first time I had it I knew I would be giving them my money every month for the rest of my days here.
Best toppings, incredible flavor, and cooked in under 2 minutes? Punch is a local favorite of Minneapolis, hopefully they will expand to your neck of the woods. If not, you should plan a vacation here to try it. Seriously.
Best part IMO- its a real flat bread style pizza. Not an imitation or attempted Italian style pizza. A real no shit pizza. If the only pizza you have ever had is from Domino’s that won’t make any sense, which is another reason to get up here. Figure out this puzzle.
#3 Smash Burger; better than 5 Guys.
I don’t even like hamburgers. Ask my mom, who has never seen me eat one. I do eat them at Smash Burger. Why? Because they are delicious. AND they are freshly prepared.
What about you? Where do you stop at? Whats your favorite? Where do you recommend for me in your city? I need something, my 2012 Grip Schedule is filling up and it looks like I will be on the road at least once a month. Help me out dude bro’s

do they have evos up there? If so, stay the fuck away. The food is ridiculously bland. They do have a decent organic milk shake though
Pete I think you misunderstood me, the question is what is awesome? Not what sucks, I got all kinds of negative assholes here who keep me on top of all things which sucks.
In that case, if there is an Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza go there and eat their awesome wings. Their pizza is great, but the wings are fan fucking tastic
That is more like it
1) In N Out Burger, California and expanding to other SouthWestern States. Soo sublime I could cry
2) Perkins. I eat there way too much. Not super healthy but good deal for the prices.
3) Chipotle. btw my dad figured out the savory mix pretty quickly. lol Can’t fool a Mexican.
4) Sherries in the Pacific NW awesome potato pancakes….
5) Rib and Chop House of Montana aaaaand The Oasis in Manhattan, MT
6) The Daily Coffee in Bozeman, MT- pure organic awesome. Lunch menu + breakfast & cafe items.
During road trips I prefer a cooler of my own treats. Saves me a ton of cash-
Thermos of Jo
H20
Fresh fruit
Trail Mix
Supreme Protien Bars $1 per calorie
Maybe a sandwhich or some hardboiled eggs
but if I am in the local area of these places this is what I want to eat:
1) CoCo’s Ichiban- nothing to say there $$
2) SweetGreen- the most amazing organic frozen yogurt tasted to date/ D.C. $
3) Geno’s Philly Steak/ “Classic” South Street, Phila PA $
4) Jola’s/”Fusion” Montgomery, AL $$$
5) Neptune Diner/ Most awesome breakfast for super cheap Lancaster, PA $$
6) Bagel Stop/ KT on foccacia w/bacon and italian dressing Minot ND $
9) Carribean Jerk House/ Cuba $
10) Whole Foods/the tofu curry is delicious $
Tampa area, I’ll have to check out a Chipotle, there are a few rather inconvenient locations here.
1) Moe’s Southwest Grill, burritos, grass fed beef, happy chickens = awesome. Burrito, chips and a drink for $5.99 on Mondays, $5 on the 5th of the month.
2) First Choice BBQ, nothing like a pound of chopped pork and sausage with some baked beans and fresh cut fried potatoes.
3) Interbay Meat Market, they have a deli and will sell you a fresh 3/4# bacon cheeseburger for about $6.
4) Giordano’s, Chicago style stuffed pizza, I mean a pizza on top of a pizza who can argue with that? A hefty price tag here but one pizza can feed 4 “average” people.
Taco Cabana is my favorite. The food and taco sauce is made fresh. Adam, you probably ate there when you were at Ft. Bliss.
