Starting in July I will have 5 contests, one each month.
I will be competing for the US Grip Championship in Crooksville OH against two of the best grip athletes in the world; Jedd Johhnson from DieselCrew and Andrew Durniat of DurniatStrength.
National Events have been selected
- Torsion grippers from a 20mm block set
- Two Hand Pinch Deadlift on the adjustable apparatus
- Medley
- Wrist Roller pull
- One hand deadlift on the Strongergrip plateau buster
In August, September, and October I will be hosting a contest site for Worlds Strongest Hands Series 2011.
Strongest Hands Events will be
-Vulcan adjustable gripper with a 20mm block set
-Two hand pinch on the adjustable apparatus
- Griptopz pinch events; coin, hub, stub
Griptopz Hub lift, 23.27 kg
Finally in November I will be hosting The Movement Minneapolis Fall Grip Decathlon.
My training has been focused on grippers with both a parallel set and block set. Jedd and I had a conversation recently and he said the 20mm block will likely become a competition standard due to its ease for judging. With that being said it makes a lot of sense to train it often and get comfortable with it. One thing I really like about this selected size if it takes hand size out as a limiting factor for most people.
Captain of Crush #3.5 (182.5 lbs from Josh Dale)
Captain of Crush #3 (149 lbs) with 20mm block for reps
Lots of Fatbar work- axle, 3″ dumbbells, 2.4″ thomas Inch dumbbell lifting, FatGripz, and various other open hand challenges
One Hand Axle Deadlift
Two hand pinch work is coming along strongly.
My first 100kg two hand pinch was in March. Since then the number of reps I am getting over 220 is improving each workout. The other marker is I can now hit 220 on my second attempt, and I can typically open from 215-217 on first pull. My objective for Nationals is to open at 220 and see what happens from there.
223 lbs pinch from yesterday (rep #2)
The final component of my training for competition right now is a lot of medley type work. Blobs, block weights, hub lifting, various one hand pinches, and other grip challenges. I have performed solidly in the last two medleys and I am really looking forward to hitting the medley at Nationals.

Adam, is the Two Hand Pinch Deadlift on the adjustable apparatus the same you used for your pinch pull ups?
No, the pinch pull ups are on a custom piece of equipment, the pinch deadlift is on the competition standard adjustable apparatus
