Of course I have no doubts our elected officials will be handsomely compensated as they work diligently to further their own personal agendas as Troops deployed world wide go unpaid.
It is a shame that our guys and gals proudly travel all over gods creation to protect the rights of all of us, and then this is how they are treated ? There needs to be someone put there foot down and get this taken care of. How can we be respected as we once where around the world when we let something like this happen on our own soil ?
I thought that the police and military and a few other essential jobs were going to be paid regardless of what happens with the budget. Did I hear this wrong? (I thought I heard it on national news which doesn’t mean much)
The reason why there was even the possibility of the troops not getting paid was not because of Congress, it was the Commander-in-Chief of those troops and their families that was behind this. Congress was trying to get a budget through for the balance of 2011, with $61 billion in spending cuts, none of which involved military pay. Obama and the Dems were the one who said if Congress did not lower their demands, which included defunding Planned Parenthood, Obama would shut down parts of the government and as a bargaining chip, said the very troops he commands would not get paid. Since in a a govt shutdown, “non-essential” federal employees may not get paid, the military was put in that “non-essential” category.
Congress is now working on a bill that would prevent the troops from being abused that way again on matters of the budget and debt reduction legislation. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas was the first the propose that bill.

I have been on the phone all day, a none of my friends in the service have not been paid.
I think next week is the week that the pay problems would start of they were to not be paid.
Jesse Ventura rocks !
You control our world.
You’ve poisoned the air we breathe, contaminated the water we drink, and copyrighted the food we eat.
We fight in your wars, die for your causes, and sacrifice our freedoms to protect you.
You’ve liquidated our savings, destroyed our middle class, and used our tax dollars to bailout your unending greed.
We are slaves to your corporations, zombies to your airwaves, servants to your decadence.
You’ve stolen our elections, assassinated our leaders, and abolished our basic rights as human beings.
You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions.
You’ve profited off of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our cost of living.
You’ve monopolized our freedom, stripped away our education, and have almost extinguished our flame. We are hit…
we are bleeding… but we ain’t got time to bleed.
We will bring the giants to their knees and you will witness our revolution!
Sincerely, The Serfs.
