In 2007 I was struck in the back of the head with a steel tent stake during a riot in Southern Iraq.
The cranium is deformed in the right posterior end. The force vector produced an interesting wound, but the posterior X-Ray would be very hard to view here and I do not know how to export the photos. So for now it’s taking pictures of pictures with my awesome POS Droid phone.
Here is an X Ray I had today from the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. I spent the morning in the traumatic brain injury clinic.
For the last few years I have daily pain and often severe migraine headaches, along with some fun stuff like memory loss, ocular motor issues, and a host of other goodies.
What I am looking forward to is the answer to one question.
Is there anything which can be done to relieve the day to day pain? Right now my doctors believe the answer is no, and a pharmacological intervention will be the only relief.
So far the only medication which has proven useful have been opiates, but the side effects make them an unacceptable solution for day to day function.
I am scheduled for a host of imagining appointments with the specialist over the next month. Maybe they will be able to offer some new solutions. Until then it will continue to be situation normal…

…all fucked up.
I’ll show you the rest of them when I bring my lab top up to MM
fuck
you don’t deserve this shit
people look at someone going through a difficult time
they don’t know what to say so
they search for a positive change that occurred during or after the difficult period
then they point out that the change wouldn’t have occurred without the trial
really??
can you prove that?
do we really have to be tortured to become better?
I have another take
the person going through the difficult time is a remarkable being
they are remarkable for enduring their trials
and
making the best out of it by responding with a positive personality change
I have not looked at it from a perspective of deserve or whatnot. It is simply is. Today was useful because I have had some questions answered, and new questions have emerged. Some times that is all the win you get.
Hi Adam, sorry to hear about your prognosis. I know you are not a big fan of bodywork, but have you tried CranioSacral therapy? (Search Upledger Institute if you would like to know more or find a local practitioner.) It is gentle work that has has profound affects on folks with head injuries. I have seen folks who are considered helpless by the medical community have full healing.
Worth checking out if only to know more about it. I wish you well!

I am big fan of what works, so I will not discredit it until it has been tested.
Right now I do not have a local body worker who I know and believe is capable enough for me to allow them to fuck with it. If I encounter someone who I believe is skilled I will allow them a go.
4 pain-stopping plant sterols: Cholesterol, Campesterol, Beta Sisosterol and Lupeol, all used and studied around the world as highly effective anti-inflammatory agents.
Salicylic acid: The natural pain-killer that reduces the production of the prostaglandin hormones that produce painful inflammation.
An effective COX-2 injibitor: Most of the popular prescription arthritis remedies are in a class called COX-2 inhibitors because they inhibit the body’s production of the enzyme linked to inflammtion. Tackling not only the COX-2 enzymes, but another inflammatory agent called bradykinin to reduce swelling and relieve sprains and strains two ways.

Adam: Have my pains and have inserted a lengthly add- to. But the claims are 25 years of pain-free living. Have made my order, have my pains not only from life but military as well, I must give this a try to see.(order online http://www.aloes.com- or- call 1-800-330-2563). If the lengthly add-on is still readable, that is part of the advertisement for pain-free living. May be worth something to look into for yourself. Aloe goes back to before Christ, and was used in his time as well. GODSPEED.

I second trying plant sterols. They are effective (I learned accidentally while using some as a supplement.)
I want you to try acupuncture. I am fairly certain someone like you is not scared of tiny needles.
I would like to compliment you for maintaining drive and mental health despite this chronic pain. I was very ill for 2 years and the pain warped my mind, made me very bitter and misanthropic.
There is help, and hope. You just have to keep looking to see what works. Best wishes.
I have had good results with Applied Kinesiology chiropractors in my area. They muscle test every adjustment, and a session with a skilled practitioner is very interesting. Maybe you can Google up someone in Minn.

Hi there Adam. Eeek! I will look at the all the info next time I stop by the Movement–I will drop you an email to find a time.
Lots of things to test, but my first thought was perhaps gut health since most of the neurotransmitters are produced there.
My second thought is gradual decrease of stimulants, esp very heavy ones such as (1,3 dimethyl) in Jacked 3D–most likely this ingredient will be phased out anyway very soon.
May even opt for a more restrictive diet and see if that helps, and slowly add more things back in. More of a shotgun approach though by eliminating tons of stuff at once.
Were you able to get the fatty acid profile (blood spot) test I provided to you awhile back sent in? This should give us some idea of fats to test.
If you think hands on work will help, let me know.
Rock on

I have all the X rays on my Labtop. the amount of visible deformation on the interior of the cranium is substantial. Looking at how far the brain is shifted forward it is no surprise why it fucking hurts all the time.
