- Throw a ball with either hand?
- Catch a ball with either hand?
- Jump from either leg?
- Fall to the ground without hurting yourself?
- Jog?
- Run?
- Sprint?
- Swim?
- Ride a bike?
- Climb a rope?
- Climb a tree?
- Walk on a curb without losing your balance?
- Stay entertained for over 2 minutes with only a single tennis ball?
- Exercise your body in under 30 minutes with nothing but an empty floor space?
Wondering who could do that? Most likely you at age 10.
Fitness, can you?
- Do a chin-up?

- Do 50 jumping jacks without getting out of breath?
I’m not going to waste time explaining how basic these are, maybe worth looking in to if you find yourself answering no.
I know a lot of people think I am all about extreme strength or something, but I am still a fan of basic fitness for people first. It’s not something I think you need before you start training, but it maybe something worth investing a small amount of time in to doing.
Just something for you to think about, have a great day.

Clever.
Can you spell – L A M E !
This needs to be shared. It’s amazing what people associate with being fit or healthy. If you can’t do these, rest assured the quality of your life will not be as great as if you could. This is basal fitness.
great post Adam.
Right on. Basic movements. For the general population, an understanding of this is missing. Almost confused as to what to do. Get up and move!
I hope people don’t listen to you, Adam. It gives me a great laugh when a dude bro with a “huge bench” pulls their hammy just trying to turn quickly or blows a knee running down some stairs.
Don’t steal my laughs away by teaching people not to be stupid.
awesome.
I can do ALL these things because I am a B A D MOFO. Joking. Good points Adam. I remember when I was squatting lots of weight, pressing 275 over head, weighed in at 269 and was kinda big and semi strong in the basic lifts………….I was also severly out of shape at the same time. A flight of stairs left me huffing like a 16 year old in a whore house.
