Got my Dinnie Stone trainers in from David Hornes World of Grip.
The weight of the stones right now is 413 for the bigger one, and 321 for the smaller one. So for my first attempt last night things are looking good. I am freaking sore today from these three pulls.
Lifting the Dinnie Stones requires an exceptional grip, a strong back, and pain tolerance to deal with the pressure from the rings. I am very pleased with this first rep. I believe I will be able to pull 1,000 lbs off the floor with this set up by the end of next year. I am solid with my ring lifting. Over the summer I got lifts with 580 and 595 with my Ironmind ring and a loading pin.
This movement is excellent because it is an asymmetrically loaded pattern from an asymmetrically positioned stance. Short answer- this is the stuff that makes you REAL strong.
This is the other note worthy video from this week. Dave Dellanave has rarely does pistols, for some reason he decided to try out the jumping pistol and nailed it easily. What he has been doing more of have been box jumps and of course literally tons of deadlifts.
After this I asked him what his best weighted pistol was, he said 32kg. This 48kg pistol is the first time he has tried it, pretty excellent.
We get it it done at Movement Boot Camp Minneapolis. What have you done this week? Let me know!

David, you’re officially my inspiration. This shit is beyond badass.
As for me, today:
3 sets of 5 DL @ 315lb (8 min)
12 sets of 5 OHP @ 70lb (10 min)
7 sets of 3 weighted dead-hang pull-ups + 45lbs (6 min)
2 sets of 12 1-arm bent row @ 100lbs (1 min)
25 min total
those OHP’s are 1-arm btw

Awesome stuff boys!!! Nice pulling Adam and sweet pistols DDN–WOW! Love Cypress Hill–oh ya.
I agree with asymmetric pulling–great stuff.
Adam, after our last talk and visit to the Movement Minneapolis I have been playing around much more with 1 hand DLs from the plateau buster. I position it so it loads up my left side/leg much more, so split stance with left leg in front and right leg further back. It tests well and the torque you can feel threw your “core” (I said core) is really crazy. So far it seems to be allowing me to deadlift and squat more often too.
I found that by pairing neutral overhead presses after squats, I can squat more frequently too. Most likely the overhead work is contra to squatting for my upper spine (I also use a high bar placement for squats). Hit all time max on squats for intensity recently too at 275. Ways to go, but progress is great.
BW is up to 226 every day now for the past 12 days and seems to have stabilized there.
Also took your advice on working to reduce warm up weight and hit target weight every time. Able to go up by 90 lb jumps on DLs now and can do 405 for singles every time it tests well now, so working to make that an easy opener that I can do under all conditions. Distress——->Eustress progression
All this despite stupid levels of stress lately. Grocery bill is getting a bit nuts from all the extra food though.
A couple vids of recent training
DLs, plate rows, curls–oh my!, neutral floor press, 1 hand DLs

Mike, I am really glad to hear this stuff is panning out for you. When you come out next I have some more stuff specific to you which I would like to share.
Mike very nice. Adam and I had talked about a couple of these changes a while back and I am glad that you implemented them and they panned out well.
The most impressive thing about those pulls is your ability do them with that music playing.
My ability to tune out shit is exceptional. In my mind all I hear is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7movKfyTBII
david, Awesome man. How did ou ever do it without power breathing, LOL. Your progress is truly amazing.
Adam, those dinnie stones look bad ass man. Thats nice weight your pulling on those.
Tssssssssssst. Tssssssssssst.
Fucking morons.
Tonights training. I have figured out that almost everything i do, tests better if i load my right leg or right side. It started see a couple of weeks ago that my v bar lift would test better if i put all my wieght on my right leg.
Tonight I tested alot of different various, and this is what i winded up doing.
B stance deads, right foot foward with 255 (volume)
V bar pull ups in a lunge position left foot foward, held lunge in air ( first time)
Incline dumbells 70′s with my left foot elevated about chest height (density PR)
jungle gym body rows with left foot elevated (density PR)
Now when i say they tested better i mean way better, not just a little. In the past i would always try to get back to a more symmetrical position. But i always forget that it took year i being messed up and it won’t just go away with a set or two. Every time i screwed myself up it was with a symmetrical stance, v bar, dead lift, and pressing. Move foward in any direction.
Amen.
Awesome work Adam, looking forward to you coming over here this year to lift the real things. Hopefully I will be there to witness it with you and have a crack at lifting them individually myself.
DDN, that is some badass shit right there, some awesome leg power you are developing!
comrades
glass and ddn are badass if you were russian they would clone both of you and drinking vodka would offically make you men/ mutants well done commrades
