Field Report 30 Oct 2010– Epic Fucking Day of Training

by adam on October 30, 2010

I took two days off. This week sucked. Yesterday was ugly.

Woke up this morning, and I knew I wanted to train.

Opened up with a horseshoe bend, hearted a DC1 easily. Tore some cards, ripped some phone books, bent some spikes.

Moved to Euro Pinch (44mm) 160 for doubles, 12 sets in 17 minutes. Follow on lifted 180, 190, and 197. Body weight today is 203. Body weight pinch is very possible now by Worlds Strongest Hands on 16 November 2010.

Next was grippers with the Vulcan. I finally crushed level 16, got a double first try, then two more singles right hand. Left hand was level 15 for triples- 3 sets, then two more doubles. PRs both hands for intensity and volume.

Moved to overhand axle deadlift: 345 X1, 395X1, 405X1, 410 (2X BW) for three 1/2 reps. I got it above my knees three times but was unable to lock it out. Density was very good on these, all pulls done in 4 minutes.

Moved to 2″ Vertical bar. 205×1/1, 250X1/1, 295X1/1, 315X1/1, 325X1R, 345X2 (PR), 353X1 (PR). Density was also a PR with all pulls done in 11 minutes

Plate curl with 20kg plate three sets of 2.

Pull Ups- 42 reps in 9 minutes, +5 from last workout in fewer sets.

Dumbbell bench press- 4 sets of 10 with 70′s in 6 minutes

KB Row with 36kg bell- 128 reps in 6 minutes

Two Hand Swing with strongergrip plateau buster 290 for 50 reps in 4:45 in 3 sets. 25,15,10. PR in volume and density.

Pinch medley with blob50, blob legacy, 100lbs block weight, 45lbs block weight, 40lbs block weight, 45 lbs hub plate, 25lbs hub plate- three times through.

Totaled over 50K today, lots and lots of grip. BW is at 204 lbs.

Sounds like a very satisfying training day for you Adam, crazy stuff!

I had pretty much the opposite. Movements tested okay during work hours but I was under sun exposure and high temperatures so the work I could do without an unprofessional sweat dripping off me was virtually nil.
Spent all my time at home looking after the baby until I finally was about to allocate 30 mins to training and my mother-in-law turns up unexpectedly and unannounced.
Turned into a full distress session of just pressing and OH Walking the 24kg while grumbling and glowering, haha. Don’t think it was too productive.
Fair amount of soreness this morning, plus hand-eye coordination and subconcious coordination are both below par.
On the upside, I definitely didn’t injure myself, haha.

Nice adam. congrats on the v bar. Its amazing the way you have transformed your body in such little time. You look nothing like you did at the cert. I look foward to getting out to your gym in march for the second part of the cert. Hopefully i can come early and get some training with you.

The last few weeks have been my best experimenting weeks yet. I have tested everything, breathing, feet position, mind etc. As a result i am able to move where i could never before. For the first time i my life i was able to do doulbe kettlebell overhead squats and full cosacks. For some this may not seem like a big deal, but for a guy that would lock up the second i would atempt them, it think it is huge. Dbl 20kg’s bells is what i worked up to. then called it a night. I was so excited because i have been trying these two movements for years now.
On a funnier note, it seems that beer may be giving me super power. Every time on a saturday, i would get home form work and have a beer or two and then make my way into my basement testing movements. On saturdays like this i have pressed the beast , done movements i could never have done before and so many other things. so if anyone looks over and sees a tall guy sippin on a 40 oz testing movements, its just me. LOL

thanks david. I feel like i have cracked the lock open to my body. I feel being able to do movements that i could never do is very rewarding. A couple of minutes ago i was messing around again, and i was able to do a couple of those corn cob pull ups, pretty smooth too. I also was able to do a pistol again on my right side. I think this is gonna be a really good week of training for me.
