Best Damn Grip Day In A Long Time!

by adam on October 8, 2010

6 Oct 2010 will stand out in my mind because I broke a number I had set my sights on in April this year.

I called out 350 with the 2″ V bar, and I said it would happen this calender year. Naturally I was assured that is not possible, and it would take longer.

350 off the floor, 6 Oct 2010.

Also I am bringing back Axle deadlifting (with an overhand grip) as a regular staple to my training as the new grip league stands up. More information on that part later. Hitting 400 felt very easy, I want a 450 axle lift by Jan 2011. I believe this will be fairly easy for me.

My two hand pinch on the adjustable europinch device is improving every week.

My grip training has been 6 drills the last two months: 20 mm closes on my Vulcan adjustable gripper, pinch lifting with the euro, 2″ vertical bar, 1″ vertical bar, overhand axle deadlifting, and wrist work with my StrongerGrip Pinch Lever Block.

Want to build stronger hands?

Then plan on getting my new DVD “Industrial Strength Grip” which will be released very soon. In it I cover 30 drills which will set you on the path to grip greatness. You will learn to get powerful hands with minimal equipment required, minimal time, and effort invested. More to come this week.

Epic!

Awesome stuff, as usual. My pinch DL has been going up a lot recently, before I could barely do 2 35s, now I’m maxing out at 105, and everyday I get a little bit better. I’ve got Fat Gripz to simulate axle dl, and they’re great. It seems like the more bigger grip movements I do, the faster my ‘smaller’ grip movements improve (vulcan, wd, and pinch curls). Now to just implement a crush movement into my bigger grip movements and I’ll be set. Maybe belt pullups.

Sweet beard, btw.

Use finger rolls instead, higher pay off and greater translation

Sweet, I’ll give them a try.

You sir, fucking rock! Congrats on the 350lb lift!

Careful with dropping the euro man, you don’t want to get into a habit of doing that and doing it in competition and voiding a lift! I saw Steve Gardener void lifts on the axle this year because he’d got so used to dropping in practise, not cool at all!

Will we see 400lb on the 2″ vertical bar by the end of 2011?

Also, glad the beard is making a comeback, I think it’s what gives you you’re strength, just like Chuck Norris!
