Dear Reader, I want to know who you are.
I can see traffic numbers, I can see where you came in from. I know what search terms and links you used to get here with…but I don’t know who you are.
Leave a comment and tell me who you are, why you read this page, and what you want to see more of.
Looking forward to meeting you-

Adam,
I’m one of your online clients and I read your page for training advice as well as for entertainment like T-Rex hunting. I would like to see more of the same, this is one of the better websites on the web. Keep up the good work.
Steve, I am glad to have you on board. This year is going to be huge progress for you, I look forward to your success in your first TSC and your physique transformation.
I have taken it upon myself to clean up every grammatical error on the web. I made the mistake of choosing your blog first without realizing I’d be here for a while. But we are getting there. You write better now than 95 % of the English speakers out there.
Also, I consider you a brother and I’m proud to be your friend. And because my son thinks you are a bear and he likes to watch videos of you.
Oh I got you good with the grammar challenge. I have become much more sensitive to it, although I think I make mistakes every time my fingers touch a key board.
Max may surpass both of us with such a solid starting point Josh.
I am a long time recreational rock, ice and mountain climber that turned 40 and needs to do more than weekend outings to “keep in shape”. I tried many different programs available on the web with less than desirable results. Stumbled onto your program a while ago and it fits with my experiences. Climbing is about achieving big goals while being calm and in control and listening to the body. (much like what you suggest) I don’t have the free time like I used to so achieving PR’s is a gratifying replacement.
Had a goal of 400 lb DL and got it under your gym movement procol. new goals of 400 lb DL for 5 reps, 200 lb military press, 200 lb bench, 20 consecutive pullups, #2.5 coc, sledge lever, bend a nail. PLenty to keep my preoccupied. thanks for the good website and DVD.
Gene I am happy to have provided information which has helped you out with your goals. I will continue to provide as best I can for as long as I can
I’m Casey and I’m ultimately here because this is where I learned to take my physical and martial arts training on to the path of self actualization. I am inspired to keep getting (and expect) better by watching everyone else keep getting better. I wish for this continuity of excellence to stay on course and to contribute as best as I can.
Casey
a community of excellence is is a high priority of mine. A group of people who remain results first, belief second. The prime directive is always to get better, in whatever way possible. I am glad you find yourself involved here.
I am Kris, I am here to get better every day.
Also, I suffer from beard envy due to lacking the ability to grow a monster beard myself. I am rectifying this genetic problem by being as manly as possible including such things as lifting heavy shit, drinking Guinness and generally being way too awesome for the cosmos to handle. I think the combination of these things will eventually allow me to grow a manly ginger beard with which I can muster the power to wrestle sharks in the morning, crocodiles at lunch and have a manly nap in the afternoon where I tear horseshoes in my sleep.
Kris,
you are the path man, you are on the path
I’m Joschka, and reading your blog for about 2-3 month now. Heavy lifting isn’t my priority, I’m more about acrobatics, fighting & stuff like that. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want do learn to train right; and I do learn a lot since I’am here and your blog keeps me motivated to go on straight forward.
Heard a lot about the grib n rip dvd unfortunately it isn’t available. Is there a comeback scheduled?
Joschka
I am glad to have you here. yes grip and rip is available for purchase, you can get it by clicking here. I look forward to your progress and your feedback
Ah, thank you very much Adam. Just ordered my copy now.
I’m a recreational lifter, martial artist and deadliftin’ fool (right now 445 lbs @ 167 BW @ 40 yrs age). I came here through Josh’ site, which is one of my favorite sites. I stayed because I was looking for a way to keep progressing while keeping my body intact and keeping training fun. Your site offers lots of ideas and inspiration. I would like to see more of the same. Maybe some more testimonials about how people implemented gym movement, and how it changed their training. Not just the results and PR’s, I’m also very interested in how their average sessions looked before GM, and after.
And more Johnny Cash in the video’s.
Jeroen
I can certainly provide more information such as the listed items. I get a lot of feedback week to week. I will contact these folks and get their permission to post their results. I think more Johnny Cash is in order
I tend to keep to myself, listen to Phillies games on the radio in the peaceful setting of my camp stool parked in my shed, enjoy the fact that I’m getting stronger by the hour, laugh at my neighbors who ask ‘What is that?’ pointing to my homemade pull-up bar, and haze myself in between sessions with W2.
I dig reading about PR’s and grip strength. Motivating on my end.
Out here.
My name is Richard and I’m a freelance journalist. I don’t really exercise nor do I care to.
I’m just here for videos of David.
Richard, the videos of Daves road to 600 will continue
I’m a high-school-sport-hatin’ guy with nerdish tendencies who just happened to get swept up into a love for martial arts that lead him to kettlebells. I saw your article on “Full Circle with the Get Up” on DD ages ago and, while trying to find inspiration to remind me that my physical strength is a fraction of what is possible, came across your website pre-revamp.
I’ve stuck around mainly because Biofeedback works and gives you back control over your own shit.
I loved when the PR threads were on here regularly, that really kept me coming back and my arse into gear to post new PRs often as I got the chance. I haven’t stopped PRing every training session since they disappeared, but the insight to the journeys that others were on were very cool.
Your comic posts are great and biopsych is tremendously interesting.
In all seriousness, Gym Movement and the people I’ve come into contact through with this website have changed my goals, my life, my whole way of thinking. The last six months feels like a succession of revelations machine-gunning through my brain. It’s not an over statement to say that I regularly leave people in genuine awe in conversation now.
But, yeah, The Movement is “just” a fitness group, these “little” PRs don’t matter and you don’t get better by listening to your self, so I must be delirious.
Piers
Over the months it has been obvious that you are learning and applying more and more of this practice to your life, and reaping the rewards. I will keep adding more and more, provided I can stay crazy enough to be inspired
I’m curious about grip-n-rip and overall hand strength. The interesting approach to individual testing to choose the most beneficial exercise for the day is something that appealed to me.
I get Mike’s annoying daily emails mentioning this site, and I have never deadlifted in my life, so watching you all lift is fun. I have done ROP with the 24kg and basically switch between body weight and kettlebells for the last couple of years. I’m happy with it, but I’d like to explore building hand strength and getting a solid dl.
Enrique
Hi there Adam. Keep up the great work man! Awesome that you are here in the Twin Cities now too—will try to get over to the gym again soon (this week is out though).
ENRIQUE,
What would you like to see for newsletters and info? I am always trying to make it better, so please let me know.
Rock on
Mike T Nelson PhD(c)
Mike T- one of the smartest men I know. Get on out here- next WSH is 16 Oct 2010.
Enrique
You can purchase grip and rip 2.1 here and my new grip DVD will be released this month. In it you will learn the skills to build pain-free healthy strong hands.
Thanks !.
I was joking about his emails being annoying. I check Mike’s and mc’s website every day. The fact that the two of you agree on the efficacy of the protocol is what sold me on the merits. Also, I still laugh about the Stallone opera video.
Enrique
When Mike T and I hang out its like “MasterBlaster” from Mad Max:Beyond Thunder Dome. Mike climbs up on my shoulders and then he throws out extensive research data while I tear up phone books and bend metal.
I am a 30 year old Canuck who plays a ton of hockey and over the past 1.5 years has gotten into power and olympic lifting. I would like to see more training videos, and commentary on lifestyle and nutrition. Also would love to see some videos describing some of your martial arts training & techniques.
Jay
I will happily provide more of these items, ask and you shall receive
I’m Peter. I admire the uncompromising honesty of your writing and training. I train regularly and make great progress but I’d love to try biofeedback training when I can afford the dvd.
Peter it will change your life. It is like a single domino falling to knock down every other one, faster and faster. I have now used the Gym Movement protocol for over a year, and i am better at getting better. Its pretty incredible stuff.
Where can I go for a primer, if you will, into biofeedback training? A precursor to Grip and Rip, if you will?
Peter,
Frankie and I are releasing Gym Movement 2.0 in the next 4 weeks which will outline the program and the applications for physique transformation.
If you want to start now, we can do a coaching call. Click here to schedule one.
My name is Thom, and I am a refugee from the crossfit world, where ,while I still find many things to admire about it,(Garage Gym Type Mentality),I have seen and felt up close ,that it can and will break you.Gym Movement is a beacon of light in the fog of go for broke everytime mentality.Between your open , honest , and richly entertaining writing ,and your dispensing of practical information ,I hope to continue to follow your site for a long time . Thanks
Thom I am glad to have you over here. One day we will teach the crossfit nation that you can get better without killing yourself daily. Thanks for commenting.
I’ve ended up here after spending years of collecting certification after certification in the UK and still not getting anywhere near the results I wanted for myself and my clients. I’ve spent the last 6-8 months clearing out my toolbox and letting go of sacred beliefs. The results have been awesome, I’m the strongest I’ve ever been in my life and moving better than ever. Plus I’ve gained so much more leisure time not having to do the never ending corrective work I was doing before! Content/material on here is spot on, more of the same please….
Gareth,
glad to know you have found your way out of adding letters and spending money on bad training systems. Everything should be about “results” not ideas or believes. when you focus on only what works you can make incredible progress.
I’m Rob (theObvious). I’m a bit broken due to age, overtraining, stupidity, lack of knowledge, ego, genetics etc. The Gym Movement is working for me (when I let it…), and I am making solid progress (#preveryday). The more effort I put into understanding and applying the principles in the Grip N Rip DVD, the less effort I have to put into actually training. The less effort I put into training, the more progress I make.
Make no mistake – that is not an easy concept to get your head around, especially if like most humans you instinctively believe that if some is good, way too much will be just outstanding!
I follow your site, your articles and your own progress because I consider you to be absolutely incapable of lying, spoofing or bullshitting (at least as far as training goes
!)
More discussion of the Gym Movement protocol, how to apply it day to day in actual training would be good… on the one hand the protocol is very simple, but on the other it is very subtle, and requires a lot of concentration to identify signs of tension in the middle of a set, spot changes in breathing patterns or movement quality when you are used to hammering out a maximum effort set. This is starting to come for me now.
Before I forget – a huge ‘Thank You ‘ for bringing the Gym Movement to my world!
Regards, Rob
LOL I am very full of shit (consider my shark vs man story) but not when I talk training.
I am tired of a world where men spend 5-7 hours a week exercising only to net up a collection of painful joints and diminished lifting progress. We offer a fix for anyone who will stop listening to others and follow their own lead.
Hi Adam…Maryanne G. here. Big Will’s buddy from Colorado. I will be seeing you in Minn soon. Need to carve out some blocks of time that weekend (Oct 22nd etc.)
Using Gym Movement in group settings and began experimenting with it in my Pilates lessons and with many of my rehab clients (knee replacements and such.) So far, so good. Looking forward to learning more. And of course, how I can kill a shark with a chainsaw has always been at the top of my list, living miles from the ocean in the mountains. Maybe how to kill a bear??
Best-
I will teach you how to do all of the above, plus how to build a submarine with a lemon, a brick of chalk, a pack of pop rocks
I wound up checking out this website because of all the controversy at Dragon Door about Gym Movement. Of course, if it raises a stink, it might be worth looking into. I’m a firm believer is that if you follow the masses, you’re going the wrong way. Again I was right and I found Gym Movement.
I love the training information. The humorous articles are ok, however, it does give some insight on your thinking…which may be a bit frightening.
I am gaining quite a bit of strength using the Gym Movement protocol, and more importantly, my fiancee is finally on the exercise bandwagon and I have the Movement to thank. Because of this, I’m beginning to lead the Movement here in Louisville. I’m always looking for more information and how to apply it in my life and in the lives of my clients.
Keep up the great work!
The real controversy should be why is everyone not doing this, not the fact that I am doing it. Oh well.
yes it gets pretty scary up in this mind, but what comes out of it is useful every now and again.
Looking forward to hearing about The Movement Louisville
Oh, I forgot. If you have anything for helping with pain in the hands, that’d be awesome. I’m a massage therapist and I have really long weekends, which are killing my hands right now.
Hey Adam. I found your site through a google search where I was looking for a comparison on the different kettlebell styles. You had a really down to earth, unbiased article about the different types of training styles with kettlebells, and after getting my first taste of common sense thrown into a fairly hyped up system, I decided to stick around and explore. Since then I’ve gone onto following Mike T Nelson, picking up the original Gym Movement dvd, and then the real clicking point: the Grip n Rip dvds. You guys embraced your learners with the webinars and such, and the new found progress within my workouts was awesome. Before, I’d maybe have one goal going on at a time and working towards it with no set pattern while also just doing random workouts to stay in shape. Now, I have about 8 different goals, all of them I am constantly making progress in, and a couple of them I’d probably only laugh at the thought of ever accomplishing without the Gym Movement Protocol. I used to think I was strong, but now I know I am getting stronger everyday.
The articles I enjoy the most atm are the grip strength ones. Grip seems to be the forgotten strength by most, and I’m loving training it. Anything on card tearing training would be great. Continue with the Awesome.
Will do Kevin, new grip DVD comes out this month, and I will do a bit of card tearing info this weekend for you
Hi, I’ve been perusing your site, as well as Josh’s and Mike’s for quite some time now and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. And now thanks to Mike, yourself and Dave I will be jumping on the gym movement bandwagon and seeing where it takes me! As of right now I am in the progress of growing my beard of awesomeness, and last night I caught and fried up some catfish for dinner. How is this relevant you might ask, well, when I go out and KILL the great white shark with my uber m4 w/ chainsaw attachment I would hate to see that meat go to waste uncooked! Keep writing whatever it is you feel like writing! I’ll be here to read it when you do.
Your on the path Chris
I have been following your website for 1 1/2 years. I purchased Grip & Rip 2.0 and Grip & Rip 2.1 because I am 51 and have been in pain and unable to workout without hurting myself for years. I have been trying to implement the Gym Movement protocol for several months with little success as I will go for weeks without anything testing well. I would like to see a forum or some outlet for others to share their Gym Movement experiences and to be able to ask questions about problems they are having with the protocol. I believe that this does work, but I need help getting it to work in my own situation. Keep up the good work.
Brett email me tonight or tomorrow and I will help you trouble shoot this. The problem is you are asking the wrong question, I will help you start in some new directions,
You and I occasionally chat on facebook. Your advice has always been great and honest so I’ve made it a habit of coming here. I enjoy PRing and have had a few injuries since I started lifting in 8th grade. Since biofeedback 0 injuries have been because of my training and once again I’m making progress. I’m 16, Skinny and working hard on finding time to do everything I want.
Keep crushing it Christian, if you can stay injury free your progress will be epic.
I’m a father and a husband. Almost 30. I had a goal to hit 405 Lb on DL before I turned 29; that didn’t happen. I viewed many of your vids and read your writings. Good stuff. I still need to buy the dvd, probably around Christmas time, maybe. The gains your clients make seem almost too good to be true, as if made up. But the videos don’t lie. Truly awesome. I want to make those types of gains.
Found you and your blog from over at Dragon Door. Love reading about grip training and pretty much anything you write about. Don’t change a thing Adam. Keep up the great work.
thanks hunter
We sort of know each other although we never officially met. Your strong as an ox so that automatically gives you cool points in my book. I’m a fitness/health nut so I’m just trying to soak in the knowledge. Hopefully we’ll meet one day.
Thank you for the question mark image!
Who am I?
31, woman, adventure enthusiast
Why I read your page?
I read your blog for entertainment and information.
For years my weight fluctuated from dress size up to dress size down. I tried everything painstaking diets and painful workouts. I dabbled in programs that promote “good” pain and caused my body to stress out. Thus, no weight loss, no progress.
After applying “Movement” principles to my life, I lost a total of 10 inches since May. I am a little over 5ft tall I went from a hefty size 7 to a size 2 in about 60 days. The weight has not gone up. How? The “test”. I test everything. Food, exercise, sleep patterns, nothing goes untested. Movement has helped me make dreams into goals which are well on the way to becoming accomplishments.
What I want to see more of?
I love how you mix it up. One day the world gets a bird’s eye view into the mind of Adam Glass–the next day videos of progress are posted. Do what you do! One thing I would like to see who can grow the biggest bad ass beard!
Gotta second what Hunter said. It’s great to read up on someone who is telling it like it is and growing, instead of resting on their past accomplishments. The attitude is awesome, too. From one crusty vet to another, keep up the fine work. Very motivating.
I’m the “Fearless Finn” as Josh likes to put it. One of the weirdest guys around my country. I like to lift free weights and my own bodyweight, bend steel, do body toughening exercises as shown in True Strength Yang and also I’m into Sanshou and BJJ, more so into the latter. I found your old site at the beginning of this year and read about this thing called “PRing everyday”. I was like “okay, now I’m interested!” I’ve followed your site ever since and I like it very much. I hope we’ll meet someday!
I’d like to see how to use Biofeedback with reading and drawing.
One of the most interesting responses ever Tomas.
Thank you, how so?
Hey Tomas,
I know I’m VERY interested in if (and how) you have integrated True Strength Yang and biofeedback principles. Haven’t seen the material of TSY myself, but any kind of impact conditioning is a personal interest of mine.
If you’re on Twitter, hit me up at @CMRDBones if you could!
I’m on my way, Piers!
Piers, its all the same thing- do the movement, test the movement.
I get that Adam, believe me. Preaching to the choir.
My interest lies more in the fact that I believe Yang True Strength was more of an esoteric than straight forward impact resistance program, so Tomas’s experience with it is interesting to me more from the insight that testing may have provided into the efficiency (or not) of the method.
My testing regarding purely striking surfaces at different intensities, substances, rates of strike, angles/techniques etc is all coming along well, all based around “it’s all movement, just test”. Palm strikes on screw-held metal are building up in impact endurance nicely and super easily. Another case of “stop forcing it and let it happen”.
I found your site through Josh Hanagarne at “The World’s Strongest Librarian”. I find your blog very interesting, entertaining, and motivating.
Lawrence I am glad to help you out man, let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see.
hi i’m ali, age 41, from england and have been following your progress since 2008 and started using kettlebells and dragondoor. found my way over here when i noticed you had stopped posting over there and became curious to find out what you were doing. purchased grip and rip when it first came out and have never looked back. painful shoulder injury now fixed and strength slowly coming back. current goals are to BUP the bulldog (32k now done, 36 very close), improve my deadlift and squat (which is improving very rapidly), curl a 15kilo plate, and learn how to bend metal, but not to sure where to start with that. i have a david horne wrist developer with which i am progressing nicely with when it tests well.
love your blog, just keep chucking out more of the same.
Ali i am glad you are making progress again! I have some new dvds on the way that get you there faster
I just check in to make sure you’re OK. I worry about you Adam. I know we don’t really know each other and have only just exchanged e-mails (actually I just sent the e-mails, you didn’t bother to respond you selfcentered inconsiderate bastard, sorry the bad thoughts are back.. rainbows and lollypops, rainbows and lollypops… I’m ok now).
It’s great that you help people and are so open and honest. I just wish you’d take some help sometimes Adam. I get so frustrated because I know I can help you, you just won’t let me. Maybe one day you’ll lift enough weight to feel good enough about yourself to be open to a friend’s help. I hope it’s soon.
Remember Adam, rainbows and lollypops!
You are the funniest fucking dude I know GB
AH YES! I love your work GB. You crack me up.
Adam,
I started reading your blog sometime in the spring of 2008 when I stumbled in from the Dragondoor forum. At the time I was just getting into strength training and it was the first time I ever saw someone bend nail, tear phonebooks, or any of the other stupid stuff you do. Since then I’ve added grip training to my training and have been able to bend grade 8 bolts along with other things. I also purchased Grip and Rip 2.0 and in a month used biofeedback to finally press the 88lb Kettlebell. That bell had spent the last year glued to the floor despite having followed several “up your press programs”. If you have anything in the works about instruction on bending horseshoes that would be great otherwise keep doing whatever you want and we will all keep getting better everyday. Thank you.
Andrew Pantke
Glad to have you around Andrew!
Adam,
I am Kyle. Engineer by day, aspiring badass on nights and weekends. I read your blog while I am at work trying not to go stir crazy. My interest include lifting, KBs, and firearms. Got the dvd a couple of months ago and have been using it with much success, I was and still am skeptical but results don’t lie. I enjoy reading your site on a daily basis, so keep it coming. I tried to send you an email a couple of weeks ago about how to incorporate testing into my firearms training, not sure if you got it. I have been attempting to do this on my own but didn’t know if you could provide any insight/info ( testing and/or just in general) given your previous occupation.
Also, the Gods graced me with the ability to grow a pretty sick beard, however everytime it gets anywhere close to badass status I am persuaded by: friends, family, coworkers to shave it off, NO MORE I SAY!!! I have come to the conclusion that they are all jealous and insecure about their own lack of facial hair and general badassness. Or maybe they fear that I will become to badass to control, either way, let it begin.
Thanks
Kyle,
I do not currently offer fire arms training to civilians, except weapon safety and handling. Perhaps in the future you could attend a private training event and we can work on some stuff. I am glad you drop in, let me know how you continue to progress with your training
Adam,
Hi, my name is Jon. I am a 24 y.o. in the U.S. military. I’ve been following you for about 1.5 years now. I purchased both Grip&Rip 2.0 and 2.1 about 6 months ago and have been making progress with biofeedback ever since. Thank you. I do have a lot of interest in grip training as well as kettlebell, sandbag, and heavy barbell training. I try to get in a little bit of everything, though I do maintain some specific goals. As of right now I just PCS’d to Okinawa, JP where I will be stationed for 2 years. I am looking forward to the new experience and will continue to train. I happen to be an acquaintance with Josh Hanagarne and have written some guest posts for his website. Once I make it back to the states I am going to make it a point to meet Josh and yourself face to face. If it’s to train that would be awesome, and if it’s to go out and have a steak (my treat) that would be great too. I look forward to more great content from your site. I apologize for not speaking up sooner.
-Jon
I read your blog because you’re hot. lol!!!
I met you a couple times. NO I am not stalking you. My selfish motivation is I heard kettlebell workouts can cure a flat bottom & I hate my behind.
Keep on keepin on.
Bianca
Where did we meet at? All stalkers are welcome here
I met you in Minot. I also read your blog b/c I have fallen off of working out & I need to get back into it. btw I am in Wyoming right now, where facial hair & machismo has not gone out of style. The men of Wyoming are “your speed.”
I read your blog mostly for motivational and technical purposes. I also enjoy reading your thoughts on training. I’ve read a good number of your posts and articles on the Dragon Door site, so I thought I’d check up on what you’re doing now. As I expected, you are stronger than ever. I know you don’t need my congratulations, but well done. I’m working up to a bodyweight getup at the moment, so any new insights you have would be great to hear.
My usual sign off is kind of unnecessary when writing to you, but…
Stay Strong,
Josh
