Not much time for writing this week, but I got in some solid workouts.
My training is centered around the contest events for Worlds Strongest Hands Series, improving my non-contest lifts and continuing my body transformation.
My 2″ Vertical Bar Lifting is off the charts. Here are three videos from the last 7 days
320 left handed (+15lbs to best left pull)
300 right handed for 5 reps (+3 reps to best set with weight)
275 right for 8 reps (+2 reps from best set with weight_
This brings me to a quick point- Some pretty silly people are saying there is only one kind of PR, or laying claims to “real” PR’s as if some others are fakes. Forward movement is forward movement. In this post are three examples of PRs I have made in a small window of several days. Tell me, is +15 lbs to a max, and added reps with 80-90 % weights not important?
Move where you can today, to move where you can’t tomorrow.
This week I had a day when I decided to test pull ups- and got more reps in a 20 minute block than I ever have before. I am certain it helps to have dropped my body weight down to 210 this month
I will be talking about fat loss more later. Honestly I think it is far too easy, and people are making it too complicated for you. We are going to change that.
Logan sent me a copy of his Kettlebell juggling DVD and I have been training with it more and more. I own 5 DVDs on the topic of KB juggling and he has by far produced the most best one. The progressions are simple, and he walks you through a wide variety of movements. Juggling is really fun and challenging. I am pretty basic with it right now, I will keep you updated as I get better.
Logan and Andrew Durniat had a kettlebell juggling competition this summer, check out the unique and creative ways these guys throw around bells.
I am filming a new DVD on Tuesday evening. The product will be ready in Oct. I will release more information shortly on it.
Worlds Strongest Hands Series leg 2 is happening on 11 September 2010 at 10 AM at my gym- The Movement Minneapolis located at 2089 East Center Circle, Plymouth MN. Contest fee is 15 dollars for the single leg or 37 for all legs. Events will be Pinch on the Eurodevice, Grippers (practice setting your gripper before you come out), and reverse bending with the Horne Wrist Developer. After the official three events I will hold 2″ V bar, Axle deadlift, and pinching on the IM Hub handle.
Invictus Endurance is being held on 18 September in Portland OR, with myself and endurance athlete Sean Geddes.
There will be a Tactical Strength Challenge at The Movement Minneapolis 25 September, weigh in is at 0930 with a 1000 start time. Events will be Deadlift for max single, strict pull ups for single set, and 5 minute snatch test. I am excited to see David Dellanave put up his numbers for this event: he has been training smart this year and has added well over 60lbs to his deadlift since the last TSC.
For those who do not feel comfortable snatching a kettlebell I will have an alternative event (not officially scored however) using a single hand swing test.

These people who are debating what is or is not a PR are really starting to get on my nerves.
PR = Personal Record.
Can we all agree on that?
Therefore, if you do 16 pull-ups with bodyweight in a time of 7 minutes and you have never been able to do that before, it is a PR.
The next day, if you do 17 pull ups in 7 minutes, it is a record. I know it is a record because if you write it down, the number 17 is greater than the number 16 and the time is the same. This pretty well fits the definition of record.
Now, if you can set one of these silly little “records” every single day…in other words, you do something EVERY DAY that you COULD NOT DO before, are you not moving forward?
Is the logical conclusion not that you are going to be able to PR in the specific goal metric?
I pulled about 6 sumo deadlift PRs this week. I don’t care about sumo style deadlifting, so should I not count these PRs? Are they not relevant to my quest for the greatest possible conventional deadlift?
PR = Personal Record
Periodizationfags are just scared of you ruining their business, Adam, I think.
Will Invictus workshop be released on DVD?
