The Movement Certification: Next Class Is Forming Now

by adam on June 11, 2010

Announcing THE MOVEMENT certification:

The BioMechanics of Physique Transformation

But before you get too excited, there’s a catch.  You can’t come. Let me tell you why.

You see, The Movement’s certification is by: Invitation only. Don’t you hate how trainers today are buying their credentials?  Isn’t it funny how in only 1 year you can become a master trainer?

Don’t mistake credentials for credibility

The Personal Training industry lacks credibility.  The Movement will not be a part of the problem…we will be the solution!

Trainers aren’t credible because they know more…

If that were so, the more letters a trainer has after their name, the more credible they’d be.  That just isn’t the reality of the situation.

Those with the most letters:

  • think the most
  • do the least
  • improve the least (think there is a correlation?)
  • confuse the rest of us.

Of course they do – how can they know about better if they’re not getting better?

Credibility is not about knowing the most, but about doing everything you know to do.  For that reason…Our credentials are not for sale.  EVERY one of our coaches will be credible BEFORE they are credentialed.  Want to be credible in our eyes?

Here’s how:

1. PR for 30 Workouts in a row!

Record how you did it by recording your:

  • Exercises / Movement
  • Loads
  • Reps
  • Sets (total volume: you do the math!)
  • Total Training Time (for Density)

EVERY WORKOUT!

We only want people who practice what they preach.  So if you wanna preach it…prove you’re practicing it!  But even that won’t guarantee you get certified.  The only people we will certify are those that are vouched for by an existing Movement Certified Coach.

If you are a good trainer, you are getting tons of referrals, right?  But….Can you get one of our trainers to refer you?  Will they say your name is as good as theirs?  Wanna be ready for your possible invitation?

Step 1:

Get started by PRing everyday and keeping your log.

Post your PRs on twitter followed by #preveryday

Follow me on twitter @frankiefaires

Step 2:

Be looking in your email for an invitation from us.

Don’t email, don’t call, don’t otherwise contact us: We’ll contact you.

Don’t worry. If you are a good candidate, we’ll find you.

It’s simple physics:

People with the same destination always run in to each other.

If your destination is our destination, we’ll contact you soon.

Guaranteed.

Sorry but I’m still all excited about it.

Great project! :D

It does make you wonder how certain organisations can justify the cost of their certification. Several hundred dollars is a lot of money.

No Matt, several hundred dollars is not a lot of money. The issue we have with all certifications is how little knowledge these “certified coaches” have. I question how someone can be a trainer when they can’t even train themselves

I’m not excited in the hope belief that I’ll get invited now.
I’m excited for the fact that I will be in the future. The last three lines of this post reassure me that I will, in fact.

Quick question though for Frankie or Adam:
How critical is timing your whole session, in your opinions? I have never really followed that step, as my sessions are often broken around other activities, rushed single movement sessions in the workplace or inclusive of bodyweight movements (which I can’t figure how to calculate for work/time when weighted and non-weighted are both involved). I always track density for each movement, never across the board.
If you have any suggestions on how to work an overall session work amount calculation taking bodyweight movements and bridging times etc into account, I’m all ears.

Piers I will address this in our next broadcast call

Cool. By the way, did I miss the GNR webinar on 04/06/10 or did it not happen? I didn’t see an email about it.

I haven’t been posting on Twitter just lately, but I PR every workout for sure. You guys want me to “catch up” or start now with fresh ones? I am confident that I will PR every training session for the rest of my life. I have been doing LESS CHASING lately and have been nailing BIGGER PR’s!! I’m doing a lot of new things also, which keeps it fun. I’m pretty pumped about it.

All I can say is thank you for insisting on such uncommon levels of credibility. I can see how you would need it: this stuff works. I set PRs everyday, easily, using this information. Therefore it is valuable, an you cannot afford to dilute either the quality of the information nor your personal reputations.

It’s a shame that other famous fitness “experts” I could mention sold these things for a few hundred bucks per certification.

Brad

there is nothing wrong with people profiting from their talent- the shame comes in when corners are cut in order to sell more seats. If you are on the break through with material, you change your course. Not sell the old shit, and now sell the new shit. I can point out some specifics but I think you can imagine a few.

Couldn’t make the last one. Hope to make this one.
