I am handling several items right now, it’s a great thing Mike T Nelson taught me to juggle at the Movements biomech summit!

I did an interview with my friend Steve Reishus this weekend, check it out HERE. Warning to you, it may leave you questioning things and thinking. So pass on those if you are a happy little sheep coasting through life

Check out the Dragonboat racing below. Very cool team sport, not a lot of that going on in North Dakota but maybe one day I will try my hand at it.

Finally, Feats of Strength voting will begin this week. Start now by clicking on “Contests” and leave a comment. You can choose up to 3 videos, please rank tham 1,2,3.  Simple stuff.

For the record, I will send each and everyone of them a personal gift for having the stones to post something. Now it is your turn to select who will win the big prizes.

Adam, that interview may be the coolest thing on the damn internet. Your “everybody as scientist” thing is something I’ve been pursuing for a while, in the spirit of R. Buckminster Fuller (who, if you haven’t, you should really check out).

The only reason that the “everyone as scientist” idea hasn’t lit the world on fire (yet), as far as I can tell, is that people who get paid to do other peoples’ thinking (ie. professional scientists, trainers, politicians, doctors) have too much of a vested interest in ensuring that WE DO NOT THINK FOR OUSELVES.

Nothing could be more dangerous to the fabric of this society than a group of people who ACTUALLY APPLY SCIENCE TO REAL LIFE. Mainstream rationalism would require a complete retool of our entire society – think of advertisements – because it is so diametrically opposed to our current structure.

I am currently writing an essay on this very topic, and it’ll be a barn-burner.

Nice interview Adam. I never thought about kicking someone in the nards and how that would affect biofeedback – makes a lot of sense!!! :)

@ Brad, someone has to say it, but it should be a common thought in society. In fairness some people do test, but they are asking the wrong questions and they are wishing for results…painful

Mike, thanks buddy, it was hot in there when i was done

Boris, Yes pain, makes us weaker, now lets wind back some. Pain makes you weaker, painful faces make us weaker. When we feel pain we tense up. Tension, pain…wait for it…too much tension a bad thing? Why the hell is this so hard for people to understand?

Boris March 29, 2010 at 3:23 pm

I was joking – hope that was clear. It’s definitely a revelation to most people that making a pained face while lifting actually makes you weaker – my father taught that to me when I was doing pull-ups in the gym at age 6-8.
