World’s Strongest Librarian Interview on Physical Living

by josh on March 24, 2010

Earthling!

I did an interview over on Physical Living today that was a lot of fun.  I got to talk about The Movement quite a bit.

You can read it here.

The word is spreading.

Great interview, Josh. Your authenticity always comes out in whatever you produce. And yes, I think it will soon become quite impossible to ignore us.

By the way, you’d better put your money where your mouth is: I’m unsubscibing from WSL. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

No!

Just kidding, Josh, I could never do that to you. Re-subscribe.

Hey, Josh- I’m kind of a lurker here so I feel kind of gay, but you seem like you’ve really got your shit together. And lucky for the untold numbers of people you’ve already reached and will continue to reach, you seem to have some compulsion to, well… reach people. I commend you, and the others on here, for that. For my part, I’ve all but given up. I just let silly people keep being silly. Anyway, I checked out your blog. Pretty cool. You ever read Tom Robbins? (If not, do it- all his books are AWESOME!) How about Neil Stephenson? Try Diamond Age or Snow Crash. I love books, too. More than kettlebells, or maybe even food. Well, not food, but whatever. Keep being awesome…

Joseph, I’ve read everything by Stephenson and love it all. Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon are probably my favorites. I’ve also read everything by Robbins. We’re in the same boat:)

Good to hear! It’s a big boat and there are too few rowing it. I’ll grab an oar. I can’t bottom up press a 32kg kettlebell (yet), but rowing comes naturally to us Northern Men. Where are you from anyway? You are an actual librarian (the world’s strongest I hear)- did you get a degree in Library Sciences? More good books- Island by Aldous Huxley, Way of the Peaceful Warrior, The Tao of Pooh, The Education of Little Tree, and anything “about” Joseph Campbell, for example, An Open Life, which is basically an interview with Joseph. His actual books are awesome but tedious to those who have no patience for “academia.” He was an unorthodox scholar, but a scholar nonetheless. Is there a captain on this boat of ours? Whose at the helm? Where are we going? Who the hell keeps beating that damn drum? How many normal people would we have to have on one side to balance out Adam rowing on the other?

Great interview Josh. I was only concerned about the following: “no backwards ballcaps”…

Now, I know you must be a fan of Over The Top, so please explain. ;)

I LOVE over the top. I can take that quote back to good old Jack Reape: intensity is not a grimace or a backwards ball cap. It’s a number.”
