Sacred Cows- Fitness Traditions. I say BURN THEM ALL

by adam on December 25, 2009

Watch this video
If you have taken action you know to test every one of these for yourself. It is my wish to see these put to the test by every trainer in America.
Traditions in the fitness world do not stick around to serve you

They serve someone who is trying to cash in on YOU or someone who is locked into dogma and rigid belief systems, rendering them unable to change.
Burn them all

Adam,
I don't disagree w. anything in the video and I think you have some brilliant stuff lately, but maybe I'm just missing the "bigger picture".

Of course you will be weaker after doing a static stretch! The whole point is to reduce tension after all. I never thought of stretching (or foam rollers, isometrics, etc) as sacred cows, I guess so maybe i'm not the intended audience.

Anywho, I'm looking forward to your DVD Adam.

Why would i do something that leads me to being weaker? That is a good question. Many trainers have dropped streching altogether and move to different joint mobility drils– if they would test them instead of just do them they would know for a fact if they are doing the best for themselves and their people.

you are not the intended audience.

This material is prepared for the hoards of trainers across the nation. The KB trainers are fucked up too, but not as bad. Most of the trainers i know do not do these- but they surely have pactice which is beyond questioning, rendering it a sacred cow.
I am preparing a video for the RKC crowd, and dont worry i will find something specifically for you. I will never leave you hanging buddy. as always thanks for dropping in.

Adam,
Do you know anything about the link they recommend? I couldn't get it to work.

Steve Ruiz December 27, 2009 at 12:19 pm

Adam…Thanks for more quality info. I can't wait to see what you are writing for the RKC community — considering that audience (of which I am a member) you might (probably will) expose some "sacred cows" currently being worshiped in that community, as well. Great stuff! Can't wait!

I too could not get the website they reference to work.

Thanks again!

Adam…had to comment again after I found the Youtube channel for this post. I thought I recognized one of the guys in the video — and when I found their Youtube channel — my thought was confirmed. That is Craig Keaton from "The Movement Dallas." He was one of the featured athletes on the Z-Health, S-Phase DVD…No wonder the video was so reminiscent of Z-Health protocols — because it is! Cool stuff! Keep it coming! I thinks I smell some Sacred Cows burning! Agreed?

PJ,

the link in the video is down right now. We will have a site with "big picture" ready shortly

Stephen,

The movement is not associated with Z health. Our course covers a method much different then ZHPS and our intentions are different.

Adam…I know I may be missing something — which is nothing new for me! — however, the posted videos are in perfect harmony with the Z Health protocols, i.e. they appear to be taken directly from the Z Health "play-book", which is GREAT stuff! Can't wait for the book! How long before it is published? Will you be writing an article in advance? I hope so as this is 'killer' stuff…Thanks again!
