great PR tonight, finally lifted my 51.6lbs block weight (half of a 100lbs DB)

A lot of lessons learned here. When i first put my hand on this block nearly two years ago, i said this was impossible due to my hand size. Thinking that way made it true. So when i decided it was not only possible but probable, i lifted it. That was tonight.

Good stuff man!

I am curious how a 100lb DB has one side that weighs more then 50lb? Are all iron cast DB's this uneven.

Yes. The hex bells are made within a tolerance or 2-5% so usually when you weigh them they will be over what they are supposed to be. Not a bad deal really. So when you chop off the handle, you always end up with a slightly heavier half then simple math should produce.

My half 45 hex- 23.9lbs, my 85's are 44.8 and 43.7, my half 100 is 51.6 and my half 75 is 39.2

getting some block weights is a great way to boost your strength. Most people will give away hexs for next to nothing. do not hesitate to chop them– a block weight will out last your great grand childs-great grand children.
