I have no idea why i waited so long to get serious with pinch lifting feats. No point on wasting time on what i could have done, lets examine what i am doing now.
I had Ryan from Strongergrip design this custom bar a year ago. it has removeable globes and blocks for various lifts. I really like it. Today was the first two hands pinch i have tried that took me to my limit. I think i am good for maybe 215 on this. I would like a 230lbs pinch by the end of summer.
The quarter lift is a nice assistance drill. It builds a very close in pinch strength. 32lbs was my best pull today right handed, 29 and a few ounces for the left.
I really have been wanting to finger lift. I tore my finger severely a week ago, and it has taken a while to close up. I pulled an easy 225, but the skin split again and bled for a while. Pain in the ass. I really want a 405lbs pull, i think i am good for it now, but i will have to wait another 10 days to get at it.
Plate pinching. What can i say. 5 weeks ago 35′s felt stuck to the floor. Now i am able to hit them with index and middle finger. Bob Odin left an encourgaing remark that i am closer to 45′s than i think. Since i was a teenager i have marvelled at the men who could lift 45s with one hand. Now i see i will be one of those men soon.
This hip lift is fun. I need to figure out how i am going to get the bar in to better position. I lifted up to 685 tonight. Felt pretty good.
After all this mess, i did 10 minutes of snatching GS style.
