28 Feb 09–Mission Complete!!

The move was as smooth as can be expected. It was a balmy -4 degrees F. with wind. But everyone who came out to help had a full cup of defender cool aid and was ready to move. The stall mats were particularly brutal to move, 42 in all. Each weighs 80lbs and is like a huge heavy noodle. The new gym is exactly twice the size, plus an additional rest room, changing room and tons of storage. Very historic building, it was built in 1903. It has some wild tunnels that go all over the old part of down town. Very useful for the zombie up-rising }XD

GS work. After all my moving i did a single set of 4:00/4:00 with a 24kg bell. I wanted to see if heavier would change anything. I snatched at a pace of 11 reps per minute. So at the end of 8 minutes i had a whopping 91 reps. Now, i normally clear between 190 and 203 reps in a 10 minute snatch test w/24kg. SO scoring half of that in roughly a similar time is not exactly awesome. The hand cramping was on at 2:30ish and by the end of 4 minutes my hand was numb. I could still snatch, but the fingers felt like cigars taped to the hand. Not very healthy feeling. ]

Tomorrow i will film an entire set. I would very much like to hear the opinion of those who enjoy GS on why this is happening. I brouse the internet forums and I see these stories of people being so smoked from this OTW and they are posting such “awesome” results now that they are “doing it right” So here i am still doing it wrong even when i am doing it right…damn.

Finger lifted 270 today with no warm up. :) at least something is going my way in the realm of training this week.

I’ve been making a transition toward some gs lately and have been working with steve cotter. The double jerk with 32′s is a test of skill, leg drive, relaxation, and mental toughness.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one preparing for the Zombie uprising. Keep the ammo dry and the shots to the head. I am ready.
