7 Feb 09–working on 2 decks of bikes at once, heres progress

by adam on February 7, 2009

2 decks of bicycles is simply a matter of pain control. I tear the cards or tear the flesh off the hands, it will happen before 1 March 09. The bent presses felt great. I started with 3/3 with a 36kg and went all the way to the 48kg. The left side feels much smoother, so now it is just adding in more rep work. plate curls were tougher today as i have not went heavy with them for a few weeks. finished out 4 sets of 3/3 with a 25lbs plate at 3/4 extension. Rows felt heavy, 150 and 170 were not bad, 190 was real tough, my fingers were fried. I have seen clips of a lot of people using straps with their rows, i recommend you rethink that move. drop straps and your lifts will all go up when you build your grip strength. the 52kg bell is on its way, Who knows, maybe i will press it right out the box…

Great stuff! those days off really did the trick for you!

When we meet oneday I’d love to learn the Bent press. It looks like an incredible move!

The webbing on your hands needs to be like crocodile skin for card ripping like that! Excellent!

Adam,

Steve McGranahan tore a deck of Uno cards at my house once. Sounded like ply-wood splitting apart! Give it a try bro!!

Nice Adam. The deck and a half pisses me off ! Ha ha do youlike the rows better with the DB ? Over a bar ? I am using a bar. nice work.

Thanks Mark!

Mitch, its one big callous now. my hands have changed much in the last two years in the thumb area from the pressure of the steel bending. These fat decks still hurt, but not as much as it looks anymore.

Rick
I am always glad to see you dropping in bro. I will try that, sounds like fun

for me, the DB row is the best bet. I have never liked BB rows. With the DB i feel a stronger pull in the upper back. I do them both braced kneeling and standing. Watching the training of Mike Bruce the last few years has got me more in to the heavy momentum type rows. A lot more power generation. I think for a bench presser the chest supported row is #1. For me i use more body english.
