Todays workout 25 Oct 07 Squats

by adam on October 25, 2007

Today was my light squat day. I am training with a 5×5 twice a week until i fix my weak ass squat. I will say that until i am standing up with 4 wheels.

BB squats 135×5, 185x5x2, 225×5, 245×5. Starting to feel much better. I took Rif, Brett, Thomas and Jacks advice and adjusted the following-Lower bar position, slightly wider foot position, wore my jump boots and stuck my chest out more. Way to early to know how much it is helping, but 245 felt much better today then 225 did Monday.

Afterwards i played with my new 2.5 inch fat bar
Sump DL 225×5 grip was very difficult
Press 95x8x2
Side Press 75×3
Curl 75×6
Played with the Club bells and finished off with one arm pinch DL’s with 2 25lbs plates.

My pinch is improving.

adam- how much higher did your ssst go after learning the corkscrew? i’m always looking for ways to improve.

and do you by chance know if jared’s 275 is the all time record for the 53 in 10 min, GS or HS?

my SSST went up from cork screwing because i did not have to put the bell down as often-my hands didnt feel like i took a potato peeler to them.

Jared has gone over 280 reps, but i have seen him in a video. But he is a great GS champion here in the american league, and i will wager he uses the cork screw.

You can still wing the hell out of the bell cork screwing it downward. the RKC style snatch “cast” style drop does such a number to peoples hands. Every day some one is asking why their hands hurt, it is because that bell catches too much when they get tried.

I would like to make a 3″ fat bar. So I follow your directions so far, but once you slip over the lets say fence posts steel over the O bar what will make it a tight fit so it doesn’t turn while being gripped and used. Also what kink of weight am I looking at by doing this project. I want as much weight as possible.

Thanks, Lenny
